clubbing in berlin

1. Let's Dance!

Berlin has decided to ease the corona regulations and from March 4 the clubs in Berlin will be open. Apparently, in an open format for the vaccinated and recovering only – but it is possible that non-vaccinated (with a current test) will also be able to sweat in the open.

Those who are not fond of techno and club music: Don’t worry, more entertainment coming your way in the form of a number of significant concerts in March, classical / modern music and of course pop / rock concerts.

2. See the giants return to stage: Genesis in Berlin

In early March (March 7-8),  Genesis is set to perform at Berlin’s Mercedes-Benz Arena on two consecutive evenings. This is perhaps the last chance to see Phil Collins, whose health has deteriorated in recent years, live on stage.

Along with Genesis, during March 2022 you can also listen to a Harry Potter music concert  , laugh with  Louis CK , enjoy the show ” Arise ” (in the video below) and of course visit the ” March Music “ festival , for contemporary music.

3. International Women's Day in Berlin - March 8

March 8 is not only a wonderful day for all Genesis fans out there, but also the International Women’s Day. In Berlin, it is an official holiday. This means for you, the tourists, mainly that the shops will be closed on this day. Museums, public transportation, cafés or restaurants – all will be open.

In honour of International Women’s Day, we have prepared a free tour for you in Berlin following Berlin women

The fact that the holiday is  on Tuesday (i.e., with a bridge on Monday) pretty much ensures that the weekend will last until Tuesday, including a Berlin-like weekend atmosphere.

4. Experience a Berlin Sunday

Start the late morning with a pampering brunch at one of the many cafés that offer a “Sunday brunch” and continue to several dozen flea markets scattered throughout the city. When hunger gnaws, you can visit the street food market of the “Kulturbraוerקן”, or just stop at one of the city’s restaurants and ice cream parlours. Towards the end of the day – buy a bottle at “Spaeti” and sit and watch the sunset from one of the bridges.

5. And there are more holidays in March!

Of course, first and foremost, you can also  celebrate Purim in Berlin . On the more traditional side, all synagogues in Berlin will offer Megillah reading and Purim sessions. From the slightly less traditional side, hurry up and buy tickets to the ” Carnival de Purim “, the party of the year in Berlin., Britter Butzke, on  March 19

  • You can also find more Purim events on the ” Berlimama ” blog the weekend before the holiday.

Beer-loving Jews (or Jews from Ireland) can combine Purim this year with St. Patrick’s Day , which is also becoming a thing of the past in Berlin, with a parade of Berliners of Irish descent (and holiday fans), green beer and of course Irish music. The celebrants and parades can be found especially around March 17 in the Irish pubs, and the Berlin TV page will be painted green.

6. Have a ride in the "Spring Fair"

After two years, the fairs in Berlin are also taking place, and on March 23 the ” Spring Fair ” will open . Until April 24 you can visit a mix of amusement facilities, food stalls and mass entertainment. Admission to the event – usually free; the facilities are paid

Address: Kurt-Schumacher-Damm 207 13405 Berlin

7. See top notch matches

If you prefer your adrenaline sports-oriented, you have quite a few options in March.

The two stars of the Berlin Bundesliga, ” Herta Berlin ” (which plays at the Olympic Stadium) and “FC Union ” host a number of home games in March:

  • Hertha plays on March 4 against Eintracht Frankfurt; And on March 19 against Hoffenheim
  • Union hosts Stuttgart on March 12

If you prefer your sport dosage indoors: Alba Berlin plays against Žalgiris Kaunas on March 3 and the Eisbären provide ice hockey in the top national and European league levels.

8. Surround yourself with art

Not only sports enthusiasts can enjoy a selection of special events in Berlin in March 2022. There are also quite a few  exhibitions in Berlin  that art lovers are advised not to miss.

The Dark Matters exhibition is an audiovisual installation that attacks all senses (see : video below)

For those who prefer something a little more conventional: an exhibition that presents works from the period of “The Southern Sea” by  Paul Gauguin and confronts them with colonial conceptions in the “Alta National Gallery” starting on March 25.

This month is also a last chance to see the comprehensive exhibition of archaeology from Persia (modern-day Iran) at the James Simon Gallery

9. Watch the time goes by

On March 27, Berlin switches to daylight saving time. Those who really want to feel the exciting change, can come to ” World Clock ” in Alexanderplatz (note: at 2 am, so only for the brave and mighty) and see how it changes.

10. Enjoy what is left of the winter

It is still possible to ice skate in some places until the end of March, and sometimes it also snows and you can use the sled once again.

Of course, the weather does not prevent us from taking  guided tours of Berlin  ( for inquiries and booking )
